Driving some people insane

21 August 2023 by Natan Gesher

There were exceptions to Sharav’s incredible ability to get people to chill out. Every once in a while Sharav, or I, or the combination of him and me, drove people absolutely insane (or occasionally just mindlessly dumb).

One time, while dining al fresco at Magic Burger in Tel Aviv, a wacko started screaming at me for tying Sharav’s leash to the table or something while I ate my hamburger and onion rings. He threatened to call the police – ok, go ahead, call them. He called and the police told him to fuck off. Then he threatened to call the animal control office – ok, go ahead, call them. He called animal control and they told him, very politely and civilly, that he should please fuck off. Then he yelled and threatened for a while, and finally fucked off. But I was definitely scared of him, and looked over my shoulder when we walked home after dinner.
