Crate

Howl

18 August 2023 by Natan Gesher

Though Sharav was not a barker, when I first adopted him, he definitely was a howler, and he used to howl at every siren that we could hear from our Tel Aviv apartment. That apartment was very loud, located at one of the busiest intersections in the entire country, on the second floor with balconies directly facing both Ibn Gvirol and Kaplan Street, and we heard a lot of sirens there.

He howled less and less as he got older, and as I encouraged him more and more to stop doing it.

We seldom heard sirens after living in Tel Aviv except for when we lived on East 30th Street in New York, close to a fire station, and I finally just trained him to enter his crate whenever he heard one of the fire engines.
