My family’s dog Latke died when I was just seven – so I had been on walks with her and seen her being fed, but I was too young to walk or feed her by myself, or to make any decisions or take any responsibility for her. I knew that I liked dogs, but did not really have a clear understanding of what it would be like to live with a dog, or have a dog depend on me for everything.
When I adopted Sharav, I honestly had no idea if I’d be able to keep an animal alive for 16 days, let alone 16 years.
I’ve never been good with plants, and they’re supposed to be much easier.
