Moving from apartment to apartment and city to city was always extremely rough on Sharav, physically demanding due to being constrained for long periods of time and subject to my whims, but did he ever get destructive? No. Did he ever so much as flinch? No – and this is the same dog whose ears would stand up straight at attention if I lifted my wrist to look at my watch to check the time on the opposite side of the apartment.
Of course it would be a stretch to say that he had any understanding of having lived in eight homes, in four cities, in two countries (and on two coasts of one country) on two continents, but he did seem to appreciate some apartments more than others.
