Sleeping

October 2021 journal entry

22 August 2023 by Natan Gesher

Here’s an excerpt from an October 2021 journal entry:

When I got Sharav, I really didn’t know what it was going to be like to have a dog.
I’m really happy with what it has been like.
It makes me so fulfilled to know that I’ve given him a long, healthy and happy life, that I’ve been there for him as he always has for me when I needed it most.
He’s asleep now, sighing deeply, oriented to face me, his eyes half-open, ready to protect me from an intruder or predator – even if he wouldn’t have any clue how to do that.
I love that I’ve started brushing him every day. I wish I had started doing that sooner. With the Roomba running daily, that much hair really doesn’t accumulate when he’s brushed inside. And I love giving him the treat after he’s just gotten brushed.

Would you be willing to share some memories or photos of Sharav with me?
