I adopted Sharav from Vitaly’s home in South Tel Aviv on the afternoon before יום הזיכרון, Israel’s memorial day, which meant that I would have two full days to get him situated, since the following day was יום העצמאות, Israel’s independence day. Vitaly graciously drove us back to my apartment in the center of town.
